Messaging, advertising and images are being thrust into the arena of architecture as we seek more and more means to keep the masses exposed to our products and ideas of lifestyle.   Architecture as a discipline has been unable or unwilling to challenge or embrace this growing trend and address it’s incorporation as a potential design parameter.  To make these messages convey a sense of connection with the architecture itself rather than coexist or even compete with the more formal ideals of architecture and design they must be examined, analyzed and executed or we will lose any higher ideals of architectural self-determination.

The scrim panel attempts to make a connection between the hidden systems of architecture and the performance of the veneer and how they can become entities that relate more closely to the users of a construct.   It will index and interpret imaging and advertising and its impact by using LED light tubes which will catalog and display the activities of the users within an environment.
